In the first month, we spend over 50 hours with our clients prior to reaching out to business buyers to scrub the financial information, understand your business model, and prepare a professional investment document. This ensures that we can source more credible offers from buyers and avoid any surprises once an offer is received. We do the heavy lifting upfront, which helps us achieve our historical +95% closing rate.
Our Closing Process
Our involvement post-offer separates us from other M&A providers. We are firm believers that there are no shortcuts to a successful sale. On average, it takes 6-12 months from when we are engaged to sell a business.
We close over 95% of the transactions we work on because we follow a proven process and drive value by ensuring the information is accurately presented, your story is told in the right way, we only work with qualified buyers, and we remain involved throughout the closing process.
Planning & Data Collection
We identify your sale objectives and clearly understand what we need to deliver on to ensure a successful outcome. We spend 1-2 months doing a detailed review of the business’s operations and financials via several on-site & virtual meetings to prepare a financial model and prospectus describing the business and its growth potential.

The reason why over 80% of our clients are referred by Canadian Banks is that we start working with our prospective clients 1 to 5 years in advance to provide actionable pre-sale planning advice, working in harmony with your accountant, lawyer, wealth advisor and commercial banker to ensure you are exit-ready.

How do our fees work
We ensure our fees are in line with industry averages. We charge an upfront work fee to ensure your commitment to the sale process, but the majority of our pre-sale planning and transaction services are performance-based, on a percentage of the final sale price ensuring that we are closely aligned with you. We get paid on the value we unlock for you.
